ILWU welcomes 2 pay increases for Licensed Caregivers

Jenna Takenouchi (Pacific Hts-Nuuanu-Liliha) stand with ILWU representatives and take a moment to give thanks upon passing pay increases for licensed caregivers in Hawaii. UPDATED April 25, 2024 - 2 PAY INCREASES COMING FOR LICENSED CAREGIVERS.  The Hawaii State House of Representatives approved payment increases that will benefit Licensed Caregivers with clients that receive benefits from SSI and the State supplemental payments for Room & Board costs, and another increase will be for State matching funds to Medicaid payments for healthcare services.    The ILWU Local 1000 has spearheaded the push to increase these payments since the 2023 Hawaii Legislative session.  Representative Rose Martinez (Ewa Beach-Iroquois) was instrumental to the introduction of the bills in 2023 and Representative Rachele Lamosao (Waip
